When I wake up I always look out our little porthole windows in the V-Berth - my first peak at today's weather. I saw a new sight today - the starboard one was full of spiders. I've never seen that before. Usually I see mosquitos or mayflies or nothing. That bothered me so I went outside, got the bug spray out of my locker and sprayed the daylights out of them. I returned to bed and had a nice clean screen when I looked out again. We also had a lot of small bugs on the curtains. So many that I decided to vacuum them up rather than fry them and have their little burnt bodies everywhere.

Cousin Marty sent me a nice text saying we we welcome to stay on the river. He has six people lined up to help with Tom's big art sale so does not need our help. We'll get to visit when they come home at the end of the day. Prior to his text I was researching the possibility of going from Port Huron to Put In Bay. It's about 100 miles. I estimated it would take us 11 hours if I could average 9 knots in the rivers. But Lake Erie has strong NE winds forecast for the end of the week making the possibility unworkable anyway. A stop at Algonac or Milliken would be better if space was available. But we would rather visit with Cousin Marty and family.

Kerry made french toast for us this morning. That was a first on this trip and much enjoyed by the captain. During breakfast I turned the air conditioners on. I guess that's a sure sign we are no longer in the North Channel.

Congratulations to Peter who won the Faces Photo Contest. Check out the results in the Photo Contest 9 Blog post. Peter was hurting today as he twisted his back trying to contort into a small space for boat cleaning, then slipped and fell on a slippery deck. The Orros are in Little Current riding out some major winds.

Lisa, the harbormaster, drove us to the grocery. It's a small store, but we stocked up as it is the last regular grocery we will be at until possibly Put In Bay or home. Kerry has the job of putting everything away which is a big task on Annie as space is limited. I got a delicious fried chicken breast at the grocery deli for lunch.

Note the delicious fried chicken breast on the bottom right.

Kerry was full of energy today. She cleaned the bathroom, cleaned the refrigerator, cleaned our cabinets, did laundry and worked with Marty for 2 1/2 hours on their ancestry book. Me, not so much. I did dishes twice, cooked grilled cheese sandwiches, took a shower and spent a couple of hours sitting in the sun reading my latest book. I dealt with bugs and bird droppings also. I made the martini's tonight too. Kerry is drinking her mighty Moose vodka now. It's stronger and more full bodied than she is used to, but she cuts it with olive juice so she is enjoying it.

Unique sign in men's restroom.

Of course I checked the weather multiple times. Tomorrow still looks great for a trip to Port Huron (5-10 MPH form the North) and Sunday looks like it could be a great Lake Erie travel day. We will stay from Tuesday thru Thursday in Port Huron, go to Cousin Marty's on Friday, and hopefully leave Sunday for home. We finished the Netflix series Untamed before going to bed.
