It started to rain shortly after I went to bed. I had to get up and close some windows. It had cooled down nicely and the air conditioners were shut off. Later I opened them and it was pleasant all night. That is until about 6:00 AM when it rained again. No more rain is expected today.
I am pleased to report that major progress was made in my TV watching today. I was able to get Direct TV on my Chromebook. Last night it would not load. So now could I connect the Chromebook to my TV? Two years ago I bought a USB to HDMI adaptor just for this purpose. Could I find it - no. But, Peter had such an adaptor. I was able to connect the Chromebook to the TV and can now watch all of our Direct TV channels without tying up my computer. Amazing progress in 1 day.
Peter came over for his morning cappuccino today. He brought little white powered donuts and whipped cream with him. He was able to connect to Spectrum TV using the Express VPN app I purchased yesterday, so progress on his part too. But he's not out of the woods. Marianna likes to watch General Hospital and the Spectrum streaming app does not have local channels, so he has more work to do.
We all decided to do breakfast and the town at 10:30. It was a short walk to the Little Inn of Bayfield where we had breakfast. Kerry and I split an order of Eggs Benedict, something a little different for us. Peter's oatmeal looked the best of all our choices.
Shopping was the next order of business. Bayfield shopping is a non event for Peter and me as most stores are oriented toward women. The sad little hardware store here has been the only exception. Notice the past tense - it's gone now. Bayfield is a shopping desert for men.
There is a store that has smoked fish. We love smoked fish and always go there. Today they were sold out of fish, but said they would be back in stock this afternoon.
Peter and I did find a barber shop where the kitchen gadget store used to be. We both needed haircuts. Peter, because his had grown out, me to correct a horrible haircut I got before we left home. Our ladies could not stop telling us how handsome we looked with our new doos!

The no chance of rain today turned into a 100% chance of rain as we walked to the boats, but it was light and no real issue. It was cold today, but I'm not complaining after all the heat we have had. Back home, we transplanted a huge basil plant Kerry bought yesterday into three pots we keep on board for herbs. Basil is what we use the most, so having three pots will be great.

At 4:30 PM Marianna and I made the 15 minute walk up to the fish store to get their freshly smoked fish. We both got the smoked rainbow trout which is delicious. Next door is a restaurant that sells fresh fish dinners. We both bought whitefish dinners and carried them back to Annie where we met up with Peter and Kerry. We ate the dinners and have earmarked the trout for future happy hours. The whitefish dinner was delicious.
Peter made good progress on solving his TV issues while Marianna and I were walking for fish. He was able to connect with Spectrum and got his computer to cast a signal to his television. Now he wants to set up his laptop so he can watch movies in the V-berth.
We are under a high wind warning from Environment Canada now. While we are ready to leave, it appears that the first good travel day will be Saturday. We will be heading for Kincardine, then Tobermory.
Many thanks to all readers who have taken the time to comment. But please, identify yourselves to me. I have no idea who some of you anonymous posters are. Just send a separate email to me if you want to keep your alias private, or perhaps do as Marianna does - she starts her posts as "Tis Voyager here."
Tis Big boy……you calling yourself handsome? I’ve heard it all now!!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I've always been able to identify your posts! My hair still looks great today, BTW.
