Kerry and I both checked out the water level throughout the night. It seemed to be OK. With the diminishing wind, and with the lines we were able to add on the aft starboard side, Annie was riding about a 1' off the dock and in no danger. As I write this, the water level seems to be halfway between it's high and lows of yesterday. At one point yesterday, it appeared that it would be easier to get on Annie by stepping up on the upper deck that down to the regular deck.

I invited Peter over for a cappuccino, the first of the trip. He accepted and said he would bring over little white powdered donuts. OMG, I had not even thought of my favorite cruising treat, powdered white donuts. Neighbor Pat, when she was alive, would always send me on a cruise with a fresh bag. They were delicious!

Peter found a graph showing the change in water levels on the St Clair River at Port Huron. Look at the big drop on June 21st.  Apparently it's only 6 inches from the lowest water level ever recorded since records were kept starting 16 years ago..

We did the hardware store today. Of all the hardware stores in the world, this is Peter and my favorite. They have everything! And if you need one screw, you can buy just one. I bought reading glasses for Kerry.

Before the trip, I bought new self inflating life jackets for us. They need to be armed before use, by inserting a CO2 cartridge. Well, they give you 3 pages of instructions on how to arm the life jacket. After studying it for 1/2 hour or so, I came to the conclusion that all I had to do was screw in the cartridge. I ran this by Peter, who agreed. One quick screw and it was over. Too bad they did not say just screw in the damn cartridge.

The heat caused us to be pretty inactive this afternoon. I read a magazine, smoked a cigar in the shade of the bimini, called a few friends and just chilled. Kerry has chilling down and enjoyed a nap in the V-berth. The air conditioners are working well, fortunately.

At 5;00 Peter and Marianna came over for margaritas. We also had deviled eggs, cheese and crackers, rod pretzels and fruit. We had a fun little happy hour as we always do. It also helped us finish up the eggs, which are a big no no to bring into Canada, and also eliminate some of our excess booze. I'll still have too much alcohol although much less than in the past. Oh well, if they ask we'll be honest about what we have and see what happens. Peter and I made tentative plans to get chicken for lunch tomorrow if it's not too hot. The Orros plan to do breakfast at Maria's and we hope to walk to CVS early, before it gets too warm.

Thanks to Starlink we were able to access our Direct TV channels after cocktails. We watched an episode of Alone on the History Channel and one of Down Under on Bravo.

We'll travel Bayfield either Tuesday or Wednesday. The winds are seas are not favorable for travel on Monday. Marianna has reservations secured for us either way.

    1. Never enough donuts! The screwing took seconds. The knowledge to screw took much longer!
