It started to rain late last evening and the temperature really cooled down so we were able to shut the air conditioners off. It's going to be in the 70's thru Saturday. We have rain this morning, but it's predicted to end soon. I hope it does as I need to get a bike out to ride and get my fried chicken later. It was really cold and breezy this morning. Very different from yesterday. I sat inside with a vest on. Kerry stayed under the covers until late morning. She was the smart one. My morning weather check still shows Sunday as the best day for Lake Erie travel, but not quite as docile as forecast yesterday.
Peter and Marianna made it to Tobermory yesterday. They were pretty tired as the journey was a little difficult. I know they plan to stay there today. The weather looks very good for travel tomorrow if they wanted to do so. Kerry is hoping Marianna can find a little metal cutout of the great lakes for her that she did not buy when she saw it there on our way up.
Not much happened today. We read a lot. Kerry worked on her book and I spent some time helping her organize her files in Google Drive. By mid afternoon it was pleasant outside, temperatures in the 70's with lots of sun. I got a bike out in anticipation of my chicken run. I ordered our usual, which is a wing dinner and 4 pieces of chicken. We eat the wings and save the chicken for another meal. It was delicious as always.
Marianna was not able to get the Great Lakes plaque we wanted as the store was sold out. She hit all the other stores too in her search. But she did get all the manufacturer information for us. I called them and they said they would ship one to the US for us. Yea! We have a spot in the pilot house where Kerry wants to put it.
We spoke with Florida friends Tom and Beth Plocki. They love to go to Key West as do we. The Key West Ferry has a sale this time of year, with 1/3 off fares. I had called the Naval Station Vacation Rentals to check availability. We can rent a 3 bedroom for $167 a night in February. Tom and Beth are interested so I'll call tomorrow to see if I can snag three nights for us.
After dinner we watch a real cute Netflix movie called the Penguin Lessons. It's based upon a true story and was really enjoyable. For the second night in a row I was up until 9:30. The trip tomorrow to Cousin Marty's is further than I thought, about 37 miles. But it will be relatively quick as we are going with the river current.
