Saturday, August 2, 2025, Harrison Township, MI, Cousin Marty's

Marty planned to leave for the sale at 7:30 this morning. I got up to wish him well but the house was locked so I could not get in to do so. So I went back to Annie for coffee and to post the blog. We had a bunch of bugs on Annie this morning. I got spoiled at Port Huron where the boat stayed bug free once we had them washed off.

The winds for our trip on Lake Erie tomorrow still look OK for travel. They look lighter than forecast yesterday, but will be switching to NE sometime in the afternoon. NE winds are OK, but only if they are light. Of the 75 mile trip, 30 are on Lake Erie and 13 are crossing Lake St.Clair.

Donna June came over for breakfast. We had scrambled eggs, toast, fruit and coffee. Then we set off for the art show. We arrived shortly after opening. Customers were present the whole time we remained there. When we left they had over $300 in sales. The warehouse and displays looked great. There has been a lot of work done since we were here on our way up.

We drove Donna June's car back to Marty's. I used Google Maps for directions. It worked unbelievably poor. If this was the first time I used it, I would delete the app. It took us a way it said would take 1 1/2 hours to get home when 45 minutes would be correct. It took us through a Walmart parking lot, residential neighborhoods and finally got us stuck on a dead end street. I switched to Waze and got home with no issued. The one good thing was that we bought groceries, including coffee K-Cups powdered white donuts and Gin at the Walmart.

Anne called while we were shopping and we agreed to a Tuesday at noon pickup at YVC. That will be the official end of this year's trip to the North Channel.

Cousin Marty's neighbors, Dave and Ann Marie asked for a tour of Annie. They are very nice people and active boaters themselves. We gave them a nice tour and they were very complimentary. We sat on the top deck while Dave and I drank Miller Extra Light beers he brought over. They have minimal calories, carbs and taste but they still are fine on a beautiful summer afternoon while watching a boat parade.

Kerry got a nap in this afternoon and a load of laundry done. She was resting up for a dinner she is throwing for Marty and Donna June. The dinner was great. We ate on the top deck . It was very pleasant and of course there were boats to watch. We started with two pitchers of margaritas. Donna and Marty needed them after a long day of art sales. Then we had BLT,s, slaw, deviled eggs and chips. Afterwards we had chocolate wine in Kerry's new little Pepsi glasses. Kerry enhanced it with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. A delicious treat. We had non stop chatter and lots of fun.

The boat parade was rumored to start at 9:00. Well at 10:15 there were still no boats so we all decided to turn in. We were leaving at 6:00 AM and Marty and Donna had the sale again tomorrow. At 10:35 the boats showed up and paraded by. I believe there were over 20.
