It was a totally peaceful night for sleeping. I got an 84 sleep score. No worries about dragging anchors perhaps. And in the morning, no need to look at the battery state of charge. Quite a change from the past six evenings.

Peter came over for his cappuccino. We had a pleasant visit until it was time to go to see Roy Engle produce his daily Cruiser's Net Radio program. Peter got drafted to record the call in boaters boat names and locations. Roy complimented him on his penmanship afterwards.

I walked to the grocery after the show. I was able to get tortillas and powdered white donuts this time. I guess yesterday they had sold out by the time we got there. On the way back I snapped a few dock pictures for the current photo contest.

Enough to last through the cruise?

I decided to add another towing line to the dingy instead of replacing the one that was damaged. So now I have double. I was not sure my replacement line would be strong enough. I reached into the stern thruster tunnel to feel and count the blades. I counted four so I think the thruster should be fine. I'll know tomorrow for sure. I know the motor runs. I just realized that this was my first docking while towing the dingy. Geez!

After a nice pepperoni and cheese sandwich lunch on the top deck we went shopping and also in search of the perfect dock contest picture. Today's weather was just perfect for any activity we wanted to do. Several more nice days are ahead too. We bought a nice piece of fabric Kerry is going to make a tablecloth with. We took a few pictures of dock things too, but I think we both like pictures we took earlier. Too bad we are only allowed one entry.

Back at the boat I filled the water tanks, and made a big bag of ice. Kerry got sick and filled a couple plastic bags with her lunch and whatever else was down there.

The social part of boating really adds to the pleasure of the trip. The people on Eriesponsible are here now. I had planned to invite them over for a cocktail, but Kerry is not feeling good enough for company. A couple we docked near in Tobermory stopped to say hello. We have been in a couple of ports and anchorages together. They have a boat named QE2. QE1 is the wife, named Elizabeth.

I spoke to two skippers who were waiting for boat repairs. One fellow needed his sail cover repaired, which was happening today, and another needed a repair to his raw water system. Apparently there are  mechanics and tradesmen here who can make good repairs. I helped a sailor shove off the dock. I offered twice to assist, but he did not want help. Then the current got his boat and he accepted help, but was not very happy with his crew (wife) for having the problem initially. I'll have the dock crew come over tomorrow to help when I leave unless there are fellow sailors to help.

Yesterday Kerry invited Peter and Marianna over for her blackened shrimp linguine dinner. It's one of Peter's favorite dishes that Kerry makes. But there is a new dockside restaurant here that has a wonderful reputation and we all decided to enjoy it tonight and have the shrimp dinner at another time.

The entries are in for Photo Contest 5. See separate post. Here are two pictures of mine that I like but chose not to enter.

Dinner was at 5:30 at the new Dockside Social restaurant. We all had pizza which was delicious. The menu is just pizza and sandwiches. The owner is a pretty neat guy, who happens to be from Ukraine. Just don't ask for silverware, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper or anything special. But the atmosphere is great and the food is really very good. Expect to pay $$ for the tiniest glass of wine. Kerry suggested that I go back to Annie and bring my Yeti back full of wine. I know a good idea when I hear one so that's what I did. Our friends form Eriesponsible joined us as well as another NC friend, Meryl. We all had a most pleasant evening. Sadie, the little Schnoodle, was the star of the evening.
