Well, we made it safely through the night. It rained all night, very hard at times. From time to time I heard gusts of wind, but I don't think it was particularly windy. I got up a couple of times to check our position. I couldn't see much because of the rain and because of the steamed up windows. But from their anchor lights, I was able to see that the sailboats were still in the same position relative to us as before. Our dinghy was still securely tied to Annie too. Kerry said she had trouble sleeping as she was worrying about the anchor dragging. I think I was able to reassure her that we were fine, safe and secure. She finally did get to sleep. I really was not worried. I was surprised this morning to see an additional small sailboat anchored near us. He must have arrived late and anchored in some nasty conditions.

The weather forecast for today is for the rain to stop at 8:00, the winds to remain about 13 MPH before starting to diminish mid afternoon, and for the sun to pop out at 2:00. Sure could use the sun now, as it's 56 outside and a cool 65 inside. I have some serious bailing to do in our dinghy, but I'll wait for sun.

We cooked ourselves a nice pancake breakfast today. We had real maple syrup that really made a tasteful difference from our usual Aunt Jemima.

I went out about 1:30 to bail out our dinghy. There was 4-5 inches of water in it, seriously. I have this 13 gallon a minute pump bailer and it took me forever to get the dingy dry. Much longer than I expected. I must have raised its waterline 2 inches! I  bought the pump as a backup to Annie's electric bilge pumps in case we have a big leak and they stop working. After this experience, I will just put on a life jacket and send out a Mayday instead of trying to keep Annie afloat with that pump.

My just reward for that work was a rum and coke for me and the loyal crew. I used my Bacardi Rum glasses. Good thing I did because Kerry had them marked for removal from Annie since they had not been used. Safe! We sat in the pilot house and enjoyed them.

Kerry has been wanting to make a Vietnam photo book for me for several years. I have procrastinated. Previously we sorted through the hundreds of photos I have and scanned the best of them to my computer and Google. Today I agreed to let her start on this project and offered my assistance. She is so happy! She jumped out of bed this morning when I suggested it. She needs a project and work on her book has slowed to the point where she has extra time and was getting a bit bored. Score one for me! She came a long way on the Vietnam book in a couple of hours this afternoon.

The sun came out about 2:30. It got warmer and just beautiful in the harbor. Originally we had planned to dinghy to the other end of the harbor today. But I think now we will go in the morning when the winds will be lighter. Then we'll set sail for Gibson Cove, one of our favorite anchorages, 15 1/2  miles away.

Google randomly brought up this picture of Kerry today. It's one of my favorites.
Many thanks to The Google!

Jimbo said he sold his beautiful Tartan Fantail sailboat. Someone flew in from Connecticut yesterday and bought it. Love at first sight, eh?  He's getting a great boat. Speaking of Jimbo, he and Jola are the judges for Photo Contest 7. I posted the entries in a separate post yesterday. Check them out.

I baked the final loaf of frozen bread that we bought in Tobermory for dinner. We also cooked a very delicious ham steak that Kerry had purchased in Gore Bay. It was a beautiful evening now that the skies had cleared and the wind diminished. We read and passed the time until it was the Captain's bedtime. Kerry stays up much later than I do, working on her various projects. Plans for tomorrow include an early morning dinghy ride down the harbor and a trip to Gibson Cove where we plan to meet up with the crew of Voyager.
