Do you ever wake up in the morning wondering if it's going to be a good day? Well, when you forget to put your coffee cup under the Keurig and all the coffee spills on the counter, you have a clue. Last night wasn't good either. I had just a 63 sleep score. I kept thinking about our impending trip home and could not get my mind to shut down.
Last night Peter and I agreed that we would fish this morning. But, we have a new catch (hopefully) and release plan. Neither of us likes to kill and clean fish and we were both surprisingly relieved when Peter suggested this and we agreed to it. No need for a fish bonker or a fish bucket.
I started out using leftover shrimp and linguine from last night's dinner. I felt confident, although I should not have as it turns out. Peter used a little minnow lure and caught two medium sized bass, and had two got-a-ways. I then tried our fancy hardware store lure and caught a perch almost as big as the lure. The scenery while fishing was great. Can you imagine glaciers moving these huge rocks?
We came back to Annie for our coffee, cappuccinos and donuts. Kerry was working on her projects and was excited that Peter took an interest in what she was doing. Peter's cappuccino with whipped cream and chocolate sauce smelled so good that Kerry and I had one too.

We had planned to move to Hotham Island but Peter and Marianna asked if we would be OK staying here a second night. No problem for us so we did not move today. Peter sent me a picture of Voyager from 2 years ago today, and we were here then, to the day. I mostly read in the afternoon and I finished the Baldacci novel I was reading. Kerry read and napped. She had a big barf of the pulled pork we had for lunch. Pork often does that to her. "Why do I keep eating it?" I heard her say.
Our friends, Randy and Audrey, on the red American Tug named 'Heart Tug' pulled in this afternoon, along with another trawler they are traveling with. It will be good to catch up with them at some point. We met them up here 3 years ago at Cleary Cove and usually bump into them at some point. It's been lightly raining so I have not yet ventured over to say hello. Randy is a perfectionist and equips and keeps his tug to the highest standards. They tied their stern to a tree on shore, meaning they do not swing with the wind. We are swinging and I hoped a wind change would not put us too close to them.

Marianna invited us over for her homemade vegetarian lasagna dinner. It's a cruise tradition. She always gives me extra sauce since I am a special friend (and like it so much) ! It was very good as usual. She also had a nice side salad and delicious toasted bread fresh from the bakery at Gore Bay. At dinner, we reviewed plans for the VYC Clambake which we are hosting with the Karpinski's in September.
Tomorrow we are heading for Hotham Island at 10:30. We'll do a dingy cocktail party there. The Orros asked Kerry to bring two of her little mozzarella, basil tortilla pizzas. Peter is coming over for his cappuccino at 9:00. We have 4 little white powdered donuts left, so we need to decide if we want to eat ourselves out of donuts, or just have one each and live to eat another day. Maybe I could get a small bag in Gore Bay tomorrow. Well, despite the bad omen of the morning coffee smell, it was a good day.

A catch and release plan…..duh , did you ever think that you have to catch one before you can release???
